School Insurance
All children enrolled at LFIC is covered by school insurance. This insurance can also be effective outside of school hours and during holidays. Below are the different scenarios provided for by the insurer. In the event of an accident occurring at school, we will notify the insurer and open the case. If an accident occurs outside of school, the family may take action. The administration will, of course, assist you with your procedures to the best of our ability.
The 1st Case: A student sustains an accidental injury at school or at home:
The family or school completes the declaration form and addresses it to CGEA within 5 days following the incident if possible. CGEA will acknowledge receipt of the declaration, provide a file number, and indicate the procedures to follow. At the same time, if the family has local, French, or other health insurance, they should approach their social security organizations for medical care coverage. The family will subsequently receive a breakdown of expenses reimbursed by their organizations, which should be sent to CGEA to settle the remaining balance. In the absence of family health insurance, CGEA will cover 100% of the settled invoices within the guarantee ceiling limit. In both cases, the family's bank references (local currency payment is possible) will be required.
The 2nd Case: A student needs to be hospitalized due to an illness:
Coverage should be requested from the family's personal insurance (according to their social security system). However, hospitalization may trigger a repatriation. Only physicians can make this decision. In such a specific case, they must inform Mutuaide Assistance at 0033.1.48 82 62 35 and provide the contract number 35 526 275 (identical for all children).
The 3rd Case: A student needs to be hospitalized for over 24 hours following an accident that occurred at school or outside of school hours:
The school or the family must contact Mutuaide Assistance for hospital coverage. No expenses incurred without the approval of Mutuaide Assistance can be reimbursed.
The 4th Case: In the event of material damage caused to a third party:
The declaration must reach us within 5 days, along with the contact details of the "responsible party" and the "victim". We will take action upon receipt of the original purchase invoice of the damaged equipment, the repair invoice, or the replacement invoice if the broken item is not repairable. A deductible of 50 € applies to the material damage settlement. This amount should be recovered from the responsible third party.
