A DIPLOMA BASED ON 800 POINTS

 

The DNB is awarded on the basis of cumulative points from continuous assessment (400 points) and the 5 tests that students take at the end of June (400 points). The brevet is awarded to students who obtain at least 400 points out of 800.

400 points in CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT

 

The Common Base is assessed on 400 points. Mastery of each of the eight components of the Common Base is assessed at the end of Grade 9 (note that at LFlC, the CNED's class council is decisive).

 

It is possible to obtain up to 20 additional points for optional subjects (Latin, Greek, regional language and culture, etc.).

400 points for the 5 final tests

 

Four written and one oral. The LFIC is attached to the examination centre of the French International School of Hong Kong. The exams take place in June.

 

Written tests:

 

  • French (3 hrs): based on an extract from a literary text and possibly an image, assessment of linguistic skills (grammar - including rewriting -, vocabulary, etc.) and comprehension and interpretation skills + dictation + writing.

 

  • Mathematics (2 hrs): exercises, some with tables or diagrams, including a computer exercise.

 

  • History and geography (2 hrs): analysis and understanding of documents + use of historical and geographical references + mobilisation of moral and civic education skills.

 

  • Science (1 hour) (2 of the 3 subjects): physics-chemistry, life and earth sciences, technology.

 

An oral test:

- The oral test focuses on a project carried out in art history or as part of an EPI or one of the educational pathways: in particular, it enables the quality of oral expression to be assessed.

Please note: our students are abroad, enrolled in the CNED, a regulated full class. Certain provisions are specific to our situation. It is also important to bear in mind that, in view of the health crisis, the test arrangements may change to take account of changes in local geographical situations.

 

 - The baccalauréat exams take place over two years: Grades 11 and 12.
