Elementary School   French elementary schools welcome students aged 6 to 11 across two cycles (Cycle 2 and early Cycle 3) and five grade levels: the preparatory course (CP, Grade 1), the elementary course 1st year (CE1, Grade 2), the elementary course 2nd year(CE2, Grade 3), the intermediate course 1st year(CM1, Grade 4), and the intermediate course 2nd year(CM2, Grade 5).   Elementary education focuses on mastering fundamentals: reading, writing, arithmetic, and respect for others.

Additionally, it emphasizes:

• Cultivating intellectual growth, artistic sensitivity, manual skills, physical and sports abilities;
• Introducing historical, geographical, scientific, and technical literacy;
